Megalithic Power
For thousands of years Avebury's landscape has been seen as a mysterious region. The land has a peculiar sanctity and mystical power that has attracted people for millennia.
Authors, Maria Wheatley and
Busty Taylor, are professional dowsers who wanted to prove beyond
reasonable doubt - to sceptics and the archaeological community alike -
that powerful lines of force and mysterious earth energy geometries
exist. They believe they have succeeded.
Strange
signals recorded
According to dowsers, standing stones emit a form of energy, which can
be readily detected with a dowsing instrument. The source of this
energy is believed to be generated by the earth, which is absorbed by
the standing stone and emitted via five above ground 'energy bands'
along the face of the stone. (See illustration below). Some people
claim they can feel this energy as a tingling sensation when the palms
of the hand are placed upon the stone's 'energy-band'.

Using highly sensitive electromagnetic detecting equipment, Maria
Wheatley, Rodney Hale and Busty Taylor successfully located and
recorded the strong electromagnetic signals which are emitted by the
standing stones. Remarkably, these signals corresponded to the 'energy
bands' that dowsers are familiar with. (See illustration right). We
believe we are the first researchers who have recorded such a
phenomenon, which proves that mysterious energies at sites such as
Avebury exist.
The authors also picked up strange magnetic frequencies which are
associated with the 'Mary' earth energy line and they have discovered
its frequency level. Intriguingly, at the centre of the southern stone
circle, whilst recording the harmonic frequency level of the Mary and
Michael energy lines, a powerful force blew their equipment and they
suspect it was the earth energies causing the equipment to malfunction!
Megalithic Chakras.
For the past 10 years I have
likened the megalithic bands to the human chakra system. Five bands are
located above ground and two are located below the ground making a
total of 7 vortex areas upon the stone.
Mervin, a close colleague of Harry Oldfield, joined me in 2007 at The
Uffington White Horse Complex. I showed him the bands and this is what
he filmed. Notice that the colour bands equate to the megalithic chakra
points in their natural colour sequence. Red equates to the base chakra
and the violet to the higher chakra.
Genesis Ley lines.
Genesis ley lines are
remarkable lines of force that can be detected using a dowsing
instrument as they meander across the landscape. My late father
alongside other dowsers noted how such lines were integrated into
ancient sites and were often used as processional ways. They appear to
start and finish at certain locations and hence the term Genesis leys.
Imagine a dolphin swimming through the water, which rises to the
surface and then dives into the ocean and repeats this graceful pattern
as it swims across the sea. Likewise, a Genesis line will rise to the
surface and flow across the land and then dive deep into the Earth once
more - appearing to start and finish. However, it actually repeats this
pattern of emerging and descending into the Earth as it flows across
the landscape. Some lines can course for several miles.
I discovered a Genesis line upon Dragon Hill near the White Horse of
Uffington. It rises up to the surface of the Earth in two distinctive
coils like the sign of Aries the Ram upon the top of the hill and then
flows towards Wayland Smithy long barrow where it flows through the
stones.
Visualize a spring where fresh water rises to the surface that bubbles
and babbles. This is how earth energy rises to the surface creating a
vortex of energy as it too bubbles and babbles like a surface spring.
I informed Mervin of the location and he filmed the earth energy which
rises out of the Earth from the Ram-like coils. These locations will
force a dowsing instrument to swing wildly. The emerging polarized
earth energy (either yin or yang energy) was filmed exactly where my
dowsing indicated and so confirmed by research,
Here are some members of the dowsing group that dowsed the Genesis line
at Dragon Hill – where the line emerges – and at
Wayland Smithy long barrow where it courses across the
barrow’s axis and through the stones.
Similar energy was filmed recently by Oldfield at the Bosnian pyramids.

Mysterious radiation levels at the Sanctuary, Avebury.
Even stranger signals were recorded at the Sanctuary, which was once an integral part of the vast Avebury Stone Temple. The team investigated the stone circle for radiation levels. The results are startling as they reveal exceptional high levels of radiation at the exact centre of the monument. Curiously, outside of the stone circle the radiation levels fall dramatically. It's as if you can step into and out of the radiation.
